Alex: Hi John, you didn't come yesterday to office?
John: Yeah, I was in Indian Embassy for stamping.
Alex: Oh really, what happened, I heard that nowadays it has become
very strict.
John: Yeah, but I managed to get it.
Alex: How long it took to get it stamped?
John: Oh, it was nasty man, long queue. Bill Gates was standing in
front of me and they played with him like anything. That's why it got
delayed. I went there at 2 AM itself and waited and returned by 4 PM .
Alex: Really? In India , it is a matter of an hour to get stamped for USA
John: Yeah, but that is because who in India will be interested in
coming to USA man, their economy has been booming.
Alex: So, when are you leaving?
John: Anytime, after receiving my tickets from the client in India and
you know, I will be getting a chance to fly Air-India. Sort of dream
come true.
Alex: How long are you going to stay in India .
John: What do you mean by how long? I will be settled in India , my
company has promised me that they will process my Hara Patta ..(green
card)
Alex: Really, lucky person man, it is very difficult to get a Hara
Patta in India .
John: Yeah, that's why, I am planning to marry an Indian girl there.
Alex: But you can find lots of US girls in Hyderabad , Bangalore and Mumbai.
John: But, I prefer Indian girls because they are beautiful and cultured.
Alex: Where did you get the offer, Hyderabad?
John: Yeah, salary is good there, but cost of living is quite high, it
is Rs. 2000/- for a single room accommodation.
Alex: I see, that's too much for US people, Rs.1/- =$100/-. Oh God!
What about in Bangalore, Mumbai?
John: No idea, but it is less than what we have in Hyderabad. It is
like the world headquarters of software
Alex: I heard, almost all the Indians are having one personal Robot for help.
John: You can get a BMW car for Rs. 5000/-, and a personal Robot for
less than Rs.7500/-. But my dream is to purchase Ambassador, which
costs Rs.2 ,00,000/- but has got a lovely design.
Alex: By the way, who is your client?
John: Subbarao and Apparao Associates, a pure Indian company,
specialising in Embedded Software.
Alex: Oh, really, lucky to work in a pure Indian company. They are
really intelligent and unlike American Bodyshoppers who have opened
their Fly-by-night outfits in India . Indian companies pay you in full
even when you are on bench.
My friend Paul Allen, it seems, used his bench time to visit Bihar,
the most liveable place in India , probably world. There you have full
freedom and no restrictions. You can do whatever you want! I
wonder how that state has perfected that system.
John: Yeah man!, you are right. I hope our Americaalso follows their
footsteps.
Alex: How are you going to cope with their language?
John: Why not? From my school days I have been learning Hindi as my
first language here at New York . At the Consulate they tested my
proficiency in Hindi and were quite impressed by my cent per cent
score in TOHIL i.e. Test of Hindi as International Language.
Alex: So, you are going to have fun there.
John: Yeah, I will be travelling in the world's fastest train, world's
largest theme park, and the famous Bollywood where you can see actors
like, Hrithik, Shah Rukh Khan and all. Esselworld is also near
Bollywood.
Alex: You know, the PM is scheduled to visit US next year, he may then
relax the number of visas.
John: That's true. Last month, Narayana Murthy visited White House and
donated Rs. 2000/- for infrastructure development at aSiliconValleyand
has promised more if we follow the model of High-
Tech City of Bangalore . Bill Gates also got a chance of meeting him.
Very lucky person.
Alex: But, Indian government is planning to split Narayanamurthy's Infosys.
John: He is a hard worker man, he can build any number of Infosys like
this. Every minute he is getting Rs. 1000/-. It seems, if you keep all
his money converted as Rs. 100/- notes you can reach Pluto.
Alex: OK, Good Luck John.
John: Same to you Alex. And don't go to Consulate in a "Kurta Pyjama"
because they will think you are too Indianised and may doubt you will
never come back and hence your Non-Immigrant Visa may get rejected.
But don't forget to say " Namaste, aap kaise hai " to the Visa officer
at Window 5. It seems he likes that and will not give you a visa if
you don't greet him that way.

LIFE (The Art of Living)
The most challenging, intriguing & very complex question I have ever faced in my Life is “What is Life?”
Although, this question is buzzing me from many years; one thing I have realized is, I won’t get rid of this monster until I get the answer. I am sure many of you, would have also faced the same question, few lucky fellows might have got the answer & few others would have ignored it due to the lack of time, & rest might have convinced themselves that they are not some Sadhu Mahatma to find answer for this. There is another category of people, who doesn’t even have time to allow such questions to trouble their life. This category of people may look lucky at a first glance, but when they look back into their lives’ they might regret for wasting their precious time.
Does this mean, I have got answer now? Well, read further…
To get the answer, I had discussion with my friends, put this question many a times in my Gtalk status bar, gone through few articles, but never got a convincing answer. Then, one midnight when I was walking on sea shore of Hong Kong, I told myself, enough is enough, today I have to get the answer.
I started my analysis by looking at the common man’s life, what is their life? Get up in the morning, rush for everything, reach office, finish the work, come home physically tired & mentally stressed, some days have some good conversation some other days yell for something, have dinner & sleep. Is this the life I am looking for… naa, definitely not! Then, I thought about some great personalities, like scientist, “Newton”, what is their life? Day & night do some research; spend the whole life in inventing something, scarifying the personal life. Then what do they get by being so great, yeah one thing they get is satisfaction. This “Satisfaction” is very important. Does this mean, we all have to become scientists?? naa… whatever work we are doing, if we are satisfied at the end of the day, it is worth of doing. Then, the next question is, am I satisfied with my work, answer may be “Yes/No”. As a software engineer, I would be happy if my program runs without bugs, but the satisfaction someone gets by doing some social work is entirely different by running a programs or project successfully. Does this mean, we all have to resign our jobs & start doing some social work… hmm “NO”. I don’t want to sacrifice my personal life by doing social work so early in my life. Then, I thought about the life of Sachin Tendulkar, he earns lot of money, everyone loves him, respects him, is that the ideal life? But, then playing cricket is his job as I write programs. So, he is also like a common man, does his duty, comes home & sleeps. Last person’s life, I imagined is of Prime Minister’s, “Dr. Manmohan Singh”, oops scary!! He not only has to find answers for his questions, but he has to deal with the entire country’s problems, compromise his ideals for the sake of his party. No, I am happy what I am. Am I? hmm…may be no…
Then, I devided “Life” into two parts, personal life, & professional life.
Firstly, what is personal life, what do we do actually in this part? Well the answer is, stay with parents, have our own family, wife/husband, then kids, take their responsibilities, grow them up, see them get married, have kids, then one final day, Good bye to this life! Is this the life I am looking for… answer is definitely “No”. Then thought if answer is “No”, why am I living, shall I jump into the sea now? Hmm…don’t have courage. But this is “The Life”, I can’t escape from it. Only thing I can do is, make it more interesting. Next question is how to make it interesting, well, we can make it interesting by living every moment of our life, spend good time with friends, partner, children, parents, pets, etc., Now, it depends on person-to-person that, what is the definition of “Living every moment of life, Spend Good time”. Well, according to me for most of us it would be, “Be Happy always, Laugh from your heart, Be satisfied, Give some time to yourself to think about your life”. But, Causion! If you give time to think about your life, then you may have to go through all this, what I am going through…
Secondly, what is professional life, why do we work? The truth is we work for money. Although, money is not everything in our life, but without money, we can’t have the life that we want to live. It should not happen that, we start considering our work as some burden, thinking money is our necessity & we have to work. Better start enjoying the work. One thing that needs to be kept in mind is, “We work to Live, Not, Live to work!” Once we start enjoying our work, we would find new dimension to our life. If, we always have something more to achieve, we would always find work (life) interesting. Best way to live the life is, Challenge it.
Now, to conclude this article; “What is life?” Well, “Life is all about Living it!!” It is up to the individual how each lives his/her life. According to me, life can be better lived by pursuing your hobbies, like Photography, Drawing, Writing Novels, Travelling etc., your hobbies are the ones that, you really never get bored of.

Few Truths...

God...Devil
One day, a professor of a university decided to defy his pupils. He asked, “Did God create everything that exists?”
A student answered bravely: "Yes He did."
"Everything?" asked the teacher.
"Yes, everything", was the answer of the student.
"In this case, God also created evil, correct? Because evil exists." said the teacher.
To that, the student had no answer and remained in silence. The teacher was delighted at the opportunity to prove one more time that faith was only a myth. Suddenly, another student raised his hand and asked: "May I ask you a question, professor?"
"Of course" was the answer.
"Does cold exist?"
"Of course" answered the professor "Did you never feel cold?"
"Actually, sir, cold does not exist. According to studies in Physics, cold is the total and complete absence of heat. An object can only be studied if it has and transmits energy and it is the heat of an object that transmits its energy. Without heat, the objects are inert, incapable to react. But cold does not exist. We created the term cold to explain the lack of heat."
"And darkness?" continues the student.
"It exists", replied the professor
"Again, you’re wrong sir; darkness is the total absence of light. You can study light and brightness, but not darkness. The prism of Nichols shows the variety of different colours in which the light can be decomposed according to the longitude of the waves. Darkness is the term we created to explain the total absence of light."
And finally, the student asked:
"And evil, sir, does evil exists? God did not create evil. Evil is the absence of God in people’s hearts, it is the absence of love, humanity and faith. Love and faith are like heat and light. They exist. Their absence leads to evil."
Now it was the professor’s turn to remain silent.
The student was ALBERT EINSTEIN
